LISA C. ISON Lisa is a former economic developer and small business development specialist; her current passion is innovative community development. For over 13 years, she served as president of The New Century Venture Center, receiving the International Incubator of the Year award. She served as founding president of the Virginia Business Incubation Association, chair of the National Business Incubation Association, and is also one of six US incubation professionals approved as a mentor to communities and incubation programs located in the 13-state Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). She was certified by the Virginia Tech Economic Development Institute and has seven years of hands-on experience with technology transfer, IDAs, EDCs, and CDCs, existing industry expansions and development of industrial parks and shell buildings. Lisa is an incubator consultant, specializing in rural and mixed-use incubation initiatives. She currently serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of Goodwill Industries of the Valleys.
